Fighting for Righteousness

Fighting does not always mean a physical fight. However, you still can become tired mentally and physically. When you think you’ve got a team or somebody to work with, they sometimes work against you. The good book said, “Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide (Micah 7:5). Therefore I will look unto the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me (Micah 7:7).” This is true.

Some people have to fight in life for everything. The world is wicked out there. Like “Soul to Soul”, keep on moving. Don't stop like the hands of time. Find your own way to stay. The time will come one day. This is what I say: Keep on looking up to your way maker which is the one up above and above all. Keep on fighting for righteousness. 2/22/10

Message to Laila

Laila, I think about how you tried to prove yourself in boxing that you were number one. Nobody wanted to listen, nobody wanted to see, and it didn't matter what you did. Well, it's the same way in life. I try to live life right, and people watch what you do. They are also nick picky and they criticize and they judge. The boxing world was teaching you a lot. It taught you to go on in life. Keep doing it. There are going to be times when you are just going to have to forget about folks. That's sad too. It gets to the point where it seems there is nobody out there that care, but don't let that change who you are inside. Always show your concern and care if you can. There are people in this life that can make life difficult for everyone. There are some people we just have to feed out of a long handle spoon. In other words, love them from a distance. You have to leave them alone. Everyday we fight. 2009

Nobody Walks in Her Shoes

Note: This poem was made for Laila Ali.

© 2009 Gail Nobles

They say she can’t fight. They say she ain’t right,
But nobody walks in her shoes. They will talk and judge,
Say she is and was,
But nobody walks in her shoes.
They say she can’t win.
They say she will loose,
But nobody walks in her shoes.
She won with sore feet;
A hard defeat.
Nobody walks in her shoes.
Who are they to grade
What God has made?
Nobody walks in her shoes.
They don’t know her soul
As she walks the road,
And nobody walks in her shoes.
Nobody knows what she’s been through.
Nobody has a clue.
They criticize, and they add some lies,
But nobody walks in her shoes.
She may have done wrong,
And made some mistakes,
But nobody walks in her shoes.
They haven’t been there
To give her a pair.
Nobody walks in her shoes.
God is guiding her feet
Until her life is complete.
Nobody walks in her shoes.
She’s winning the race.
She has her own pace.
Nobody walks in her shoes.

The Genius Inside of Laila Ali

Laila Ali has a genius inside of her for whatever God is calling her to be and do. She's more than boxing and making a living. No matter how many girls in boxing refuse to fight Laila, her promotion is going to come from God. He is the one in charge. 2009

When Your Opponent Falls Near Death

Boxing is a sport that is just of the world. It can be fun. It can also be serious and dangerous. An opponent may be just an opponent, and an opponent could also be an enemy. I'm sure when someone is boxing, they don't think about right and wrong approaching their opponnent. There is great competition, and all an opponent may be thinking is to win. Sometimes a boxer punches so hard that he or she nocks out an opponent too hard. The opponent may fall near death or to death. The boxer that is standing may be too happy at that moment to even care, but suppose that opponent dies? If a boxer nocks his or her opponent to their death, that is a life taken away. The one still standing should have a great concern when he or she nocks out an opponent.

The Word for Today

Proverbs 24:17-18 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: (18) Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Thought: Always pray before boxing. 2009

A Proud Heart or a Proud Show

God can see our hearts when no one else can see. I loved the rhymes and boasting of Muhammad Ali. It seemed to be just all fun and games. Muhammad Ali did not appear to be a proud person outside the ring. He appeared to love people. Muhammad Ali did not seem to think he was too good to sit down and talk with anyone. I think he just put on a proud show when he bragged in boxing. I don't think it was really of the heart, although he knew he was a winner, and God was on his conscience. Muhammad Ali did not appear to let pride take over him. He also knew he could loose even if he did not admit it.

I believe that we have all bragged in games and in competition. To be honest, I know I have done it in laughter and fun. When I got up from the table, I left it there. Bragging was not a big part of my life. Only while playing a game, and sometimes I would not brag even then because of the other person's envy. Somehow, we get caught up in boasting a little when we compete. However, God knows our hearts and understands that there is competition in our world of games and sports.

Caution

Proverbs 16:5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. 2009

Muhammad Ali Tells Us About the Greatest

Muhammad Ali has given God the glory. He tells the world now that God is the Greatest. That is who the greatest is. We should always remember that no matter how high we get. Unless we get things the dishonest way or through evil, we must let the world know that God is the one that has blessed us to have the things that we have. We must let people know that God is the reason that we are as good as we are. Muhammad Ali has done right in giving God the glory today.

Muhammad Ali has made boxing history. His history speaks and boast for him. All of his fans boast for him. They say he is the greatest.

Proverbs 27:1 BOAST not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. (2) Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. 2009

If You Must Boast, Boast In The Lord.

Laila's "Reach"

Laila wants the world to know the real Laila. She wrote a book titled, Reach. Laila did not write just any book. She had something inside that she wanted to share. The book she wrote was a good one that I enjoyed reading. I hardly ever pick up a book to read, and Laila's book is one that I couldn't stop reading. At the time that I read it, it seemed that I was reading about myself a little.

Laila said she got into a lot of trouble for being stubborn and headstrong. She's stubborn and headstrong now, but in better ways. From what I read in Laila's book, to me, she wasn't a bad girl. She just needed someone to spend more time with her maybe, and maybe she needed more spankings too. I hardly got them myself, but I never forgot the ones that I did get. Getting those stings from switches helped me to be a better little girl.

In the boxing ring, Laila doesn't get whipped. It might be good for her to loose at least one time. Just imagine not knowing what it is like to loose sometimes. Loosing helps us to come down and makes us better in heart and in mind as we reach and rise back up to the top. It helps some people to remember where they came from. However, I don't think Laila has a problem remembering where she came from. Loosing can be just a reminder and temporary. Loosing can help us to be winners as we grow. Even Jesus came down from heaven from his Father God to be born and to walk with man on earth. He knows what it is like to be one of us. Jesus knows what we go through, and he's never too high and mighty that he won't help us. When we are down, he lifts us up, and we ought to do the same for one another.

Sometimes, there is no guide. God knows it, God sees it, and he is merciful. He knows why we are stubborn and what causes us to be the way we are. God knows that sometimes it is not our fault. He knows that we are children. When we mess up, we do not fail. When we fall, God wants us to continue. I think Laila Ali has done some wonderful reaching in her life. She turned out to be a wonderful person after all that she has been through.

Worldly Amusement

Some people may question wordly amusement. Some people may see negative in it, and some people may see positive in it. To me boxing is a sport that can be helpful to those in a dangerous and evil world. Laila Ali is like a symbol for Women’s Boxing. I see good in what she does. Laila could teach the weak how to fight back. People are getting raped, robbed, and murdered everyday, every second, every minuet, and every hour in the world. If a lady walking down the street is getting attacked, if she doesn’t know how to fight, not knowing how may be the end of her life. Knowing how to box can be used for self- defense. It could save her life or somebody else’s. People often run away when you are getting attacked. Nobody wants to help. Those three or four people standing around suddenly running away, could be three or four people banging that one person in the head for attacking someone else. Nobody is going to help you. You have to stand up for yourself and fight back and pray.

Laila Ali could use her boxing to fight for righteousness. I think she is a good woman deep down in her heart. We can not judge by her appearance in the ring. She could fight for righteousness by helping others, and passing some of her skill and knowledge on down to somebody else. (Col. 3:17), “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (1 Cor. 10:31) “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

Muhammad Ali's Son Ibn Ali

I didn't know that Muhammad Ali had a nephew in boxing. Ibn Ali is a lot like his uncle and giving God the glory.
