Laila Ali

Laila Ali was a very serious female fighter. She didn’t jive around like her daddy thought he could be serious too and knock you out. Laila’s the daughter of Muhammad Ali. Laila is a retired professional boxer who competed from 1999 to 2007. She said, “I’m not going to be fighting as nearly as long as my father did.” ...

Laila Ali_I Never Try To Beat Men Up

You know, I was reading about Laila in the news the other day and she said:

Ali: You know what; I don't ever try to beat men up. I stay in my lane. I do spar with men, but a man will always be stronger than a woman, in most cases, anyway. He can take more than I can take. I can spar with a man and hit him my hardest, and he can take my best punch, but I can't take his best punch. That's just the way it is, and I don't ever try to pretend it's not that way. But if I do get one in.…
Quote from Nascar.com

I can see Laila now going shopping and pulling out a wad of cash to pay for something. I can imagine before she can get to her car, some guy tries to snatch her pocket book to run. I can see me standing off to the side line looking. You know that Laila is going to forget everything she said. I can see her beating up some old thief that would be a man. I can see her not thinking about his strength. The thing is the thief probably wouldn’t know how to box anyway. If he punches her with his best punch, that’s not going to stop Laila Ali. If it’s a punch, it better be a knock out punch.

Laila can get mad when you do her wrong. Being mad will make you fight no matter what. I know that for myself. If Laila is knocked out, it will not be because she did not fight back. Sometimes you don’t feel the punch when you’re angry. If God is in you and on your side, no tell ’em what kind of strength will come out of you. I have seen strength come out of nowhere watching my mother when she fought a man. She was sick that day too. Although the man was stronger than she, she was just as strong that day. As a matter of fact, I have known some women to beat men too. It wasn’t always because the man just didn’t want to fight the woman either.

Getting back on the subject, after Laila defeats the thief and walks off with her pocket book like nothing happened, I can see me yelling to her.

Gail: Hey, Laila! I thought you said the man could take more than the woman. What happened?

Laila: Girl, I was attacked! What’s wrong with you! Forget what I said!

I can see Laila Ali chewing on her gum, getting into her car just as cool and as calm as can be. I can see her driving off with her hair in the wind. So if you ever hear Laila Ali say that she don’t never try to beat men up, don’t pay her any attention.

He Knows he had a Great Life

Laila Ali: He knows he had a great life, knows he’s a blessed man, a talented man, a fortunate man. Also he’s so spiritual. He says well maybe I’m sick because of some of the wrong I did. He says I rather be punished in this life than in the hereafter.

Answer:  St. Luke 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? (23) Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? (24) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Laila Ali VS Madea

Google Images

People say I’m crazy, and I am. However, it is only for the moment when I am creating or coming up with wild ideas. Well, I think Laila is a great actress. I picture her in a Tyler Perry Film (Madea). I can see Madea in the ring with Laila. It would be a funny comedy I’m sure. I can see Madea fussing with Laila at a grocery store over a shopping cart. Not only that, but I can see Madea not knowing that Laila Ali is Muhammad Ali’s daughter. Madea probably would find Laila in a boxing gym. Of course, Madea would be ready to challenge Laila. Laila would be a boxing pro, and Madea would be tough to fight. Still, Laila would win. After the fight, Madea would find out who Laila really is. Ha! Ha!

Laila's quote:
"If I could, I would have loved to not have been Laila Ali. I would have loved to have been a person who is not Muhammad Ali's daughter, and start boxing and get my experience. And then, once I feel comfortable and get experience, come out and have people watch me," says Ali, who's been training for about 17 months. "People started being in my face from the beginning of my career, when I didn't know anything yet, and they started trying to judge me. Really, it's just too soon."
