Muhammad Ali has great determination. I still see the young Ali inside of him. When I see him, I get kind of sad because I know I will probably never get to meet him. He doesn't speak on the mic now, but whenever I look at his face, his voice and the things that he said plays back in my mind. Just knowing that Muhammad Ali is having his 70th birthday is the greatest gift from God and Mr. Ali is the greatest. Do you know why? Because God made him great.

Sometimes you just want to kid around with Laila Ali. People do it because they know that she can box. You dare yourself to throw a punch at her for fun and dreaming what it would be like if you could box too. One day I peeped into Laila's gym window. I went into the gym where she was working out. I got into the ring to box with her. She looked at me funny and said, "You crazy, and you know I don't fight little women. So take your little self right on back where you came from. Stop dreaming."

At first, I stepped into the ring grinning, but I felt insulted when she called me little. I wiped the grin right off of my face. I said, "I don't give a rip. Don't be calling me little. Little my elbow. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. That's a true old saying. Get up big mama. Lets box."

Laila looked at me looking like her father. She sat in the corner of the ring. Laila rolled her eyes and tried to ignore me looking in another direction.

I said to Laila, "You make me sick with that mess. You just trying to avoid a fight with me and don't want to give me a chance because you think I'm not good enough. Now, I know what those other girls were talking about that you wouldn't box with."

Laila said, "Yea, and I fought a whole lot of them that were no good and anxious to get in the ring with me. What happened? They got their !!!@@@$$$ whipped. You don't want none."

Laila Ali was really looking down on me, and I was feeling just like all of the other girls she fought. I wanted to beat Laila Ali and prove to her that I could fight. To Laila, I was just another looser. I stepped up to Laila as she was sitting down. I was going to punch her in the jaw, but my fist froze up and said, "I'm not going to hit her. She will break me." Laila stood up and all I could see was her stomach because she was taller than me. I had to look up to see her face. She had wrinkles in her forehead and daring me to hit her with her expressions. My feet carried me out of the ring. I walked out of the gym and peeped in the window at her. I was like a little re-run because I was right back where I started from. I was standing and gazing and dreaming. Laila Ali sat back down in her corner like she was doing when I first walked in. I walked away in good shape with no broken bones. However I was not satisfied. Laila Ali stopped by WBLS. Everybody is talking about the Mayweather fight against Ortiz. I don't know Mayweather but I have heard of him seeing his name floating around on the Internet in boxing. I guess the crowd did not like his conduct according to the news. From my understanding, there was a time out and Mayweather and Ortiz touched gloves. Then Mayweather suddenly hit Ortiz with a left hook and crunching right that dropped Ortiz to the canvas.

I did not see the fight but it sounds as if it was a fair fight from what I am hearing. But, it is better to see the fight. I think that Laila Ali's opinion was a good one although she did not see the fight either.

It was Laila Ali who thanked me for sharing my artwork with her. She may not remember thanking me, but I remember. I cherish her thank you. It meant a lot to me, and I was not expecting one word from her. Laila never said whether she liked my art or not. It could be the worst art work that she has ever seen for all I know. Still, I am happy that she thanked me because she didn't have to say anything.

Most of the time, people draw their favorite celebrities straight from photos. I try to draw from my heart and what is on my mind. It's kind of difficult for me sometimes because I have to draw exactly what I see. Drawing from a photo is easier, and drawing from my head is more of a challenge. It is more of a challenge even when I use a 3D modeling program because you have to make the model look like the person. That is not always easy either. I think my art is not the best but it is not the worst either. You have to believe in yourself and what you do. Practice makes perfect. Sometimes it's the thought that counts. Laila thanked me, and most celebrities would have said nothing. Laila, thanks for noticing.

He fought in the ring, and he's still fighting because he refuses to let anyone or anything beat him. There are a lot of people giving up in life. See Muhammad Ali Art Exhibition. It is an exhibition of photographers and portraits. The picture that you see from Google Images is my favorite out of all the rest. I think the artist did a wonderful job painting Mr. Ali. There should be more portraits of Ali.

To some folks, Muhammad Ali may be someone of the past. To me, what he did and became in the past speaks louder than today. I don't see anyone as great as he was in boxing. I do not see anyone that can duplicate his personality. Nobody is as serious or religious as Mr. Ali was in sports and entertainment. Nobody speaks about right and wrong and God today the way he did being famous in a non-religious world. Ali was not afraid to speak and he opened his mouth wide. He stuck to his religious beliefs and God and did not shy away. Some of the things he said is needed today although Mr. Ali himself was not perfect. He laughed and joked and gave us his sense of humor. That was also needed through hard and sad times. Muhammad Ali gave some people a picture of self-confidence and strong belief. He reached out to people. I will never forget his face. There will never be another Muhammad Ali. He is the one and only, but we need strong people in our lives just like him. Mr. Ali was strong and bold and he did not let anything get him down. We can see that about him now. I thank God for him.

I remember when I first heard that Will Smith was thinking of playing Muhammad Ali's life story. My mother who died before she could see the movie said, "I know Will Smith is not going to play Muhammad Ali. He's going to have to be a really good actor to play him."

One day I sat down and thought about what my mother said. I thought, "Will doesn't look like Muhammad Ali, but he can fix himself to look like him. He has the cheeks and hair-do like Muhammad Ali. It might not take much. He's tall like Muhammad Ali, and he can rhyme like Muhammad Ali. Will also has mouth, acts crazy, and cracks jokes like him too. Will can do it."

When the movie was finished and was at the theater, my mother had passed away. Will played Muhammad Ali as if he was really Muhammad Ali himself. I forgot that it was Will Smith being so lost in the movie of Muhammad Ali's life story. Will was acting and moving just like Muhammad Ali. He could even sound like Muhammad Ali. I knew Will could act, but the Ali movie put the icing on the cake. I thought to myself sitting in the movie theater, "Mama, you did not get to see Will play Ali. He has done a great job."

I heard my mother spiritually answering me back saying, "I see him. I'm not dead, child." My mother carried me for nine months watching movies and raised me. Though she is gone, I feel as though her spirit will never leave me. I can feel her watching my entertainment that she shared with me when she was alive. I see just the Ali movie, but mama can see it all. She knows Ali, Will, and even me. My mother can spiritually see with me that Will can play Ali.

I feel kind of lost in my writing about Laila Ali. She has switched from boxing to motherhood. Laila has a big affect on her fans still and some of them still miss her boxing. Even Christy Martin has mentioned her in the news. She said that she believed that Laila Ali used boxing for personal gain. I disagree. I feel that at the time Laila was boxing, she really needed to box. However, Laila had to experience other things in life like motherhood. As she grew more, she wanted a family and wanted to be a mother. People change as they get older.

Now Laila has two children. She has a boy and a girl. I am glad for her. Laila has a man that seems to care about her and the children. That was something that she always wanted. I'm glad to see her happiness. Most of the time, people are not happy dealing with the troubles of this world. If Laila has any troubles, at least she doesn't have to fight alone. Laila's fight is a different kind of fight. She's winning and staying strong because she has love.

I canceled my Laila Ali Toons Twitter account. I wasn't hearing much from Laila and fans. I think fans were more into the Real Laila Ali on Twitter. I don't blame them. What if Muhammad Ali would have joined the US Army? I heard some men sitting around talking one day about the military and how they had to join to keep from going to prison. Their stories sounded so sad. No one should have to do something if they do not want to do it. They had to leave their families. These particular men were lucky that they did not have to fight the war, but they did join the US Army.

I began to join the conversation. I told them that Muhammad Ali was brave that he refused to join the US Army. These men told me that Muhammad Ali made a big deal out of nothing. They believed that if Muhammad Ali would have joined, he would not have to fight war. He would have been boxing in the military.

Muhammad Ali refused and stood up for what he believed in. I admire him for that. If it had been me, I would have wanted to refuse too. It was probably against Ali's religion to fight war. I'm against it too. Ali said, "I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong...." And he didn't have a quarrel with them. They did not bother him. Muhammad Ali was drafted to get involved in something that he had nothing to do with. Sometimes things are put into our lives by force and power. That is why God is a merciful God. He knows that some things are not our fault. It is what other folks do. God was with Muhammad Ali, and he is with him today.

What Could Have Caused Muhammad Ali's Parkinson's?

It is said that it is impossible for Parkinson's disease to be caused by boxing. I have read about Muhammad Ali and it is believed that his Parkinson's was not caused by boxing. I have seen many boxers step out of the boxing ring without Parkinson's. A lot of them are old and retired, but they do not have Parkinson's. They have taken a lot of punches and blows to the head. You would think that they would have the Parkinson's disease, but they don't.

Speculating about the Disease

I'm wondering if Muhammad Ali has taken shots somewhere down the line in his life. I'm sure he has had at least one shot in his life. It is my belief that shots that we take can cause things later on in life. Just because you took a shot and did not have side affects does not mean that it will not bother you later. Doctors and Scientist are finding out things that could be wrong all of the time. One day you might hear about something that was good for you is suddenly not so good for you. It could be something in certain medicines that we are taking to cause us to have some kind of sickness.

Muhammad Ali was so energetic and healthy. It's funny to me how he suddenly ended up with the Parkinson's disease. If doctors could find out what truly causes the Parkinson's disease, then maybe they could really find a cure.

Laila Ali probably always knew that she wanted to settle down and have a family. I’m sure she thought about her boxing career when she was boxing and gave it a lot of thought. Laila hung in boxing as long as she could while she was thinking of having a family. Whenever I would hear her mention family, I knew that Laila would eventually step out of the ring, and one day she did.

Now Laila Ali is a mom. She has a child named Curtis Conway Jr. Laila is expecting another child. I have never seen Laila Ali so happy. I could tell that in her career she was having some bothersome times with boxing. Laila had to fight rumors, had to prove that she was the best, and it seems that she couldn’t prove it enough to the people when she was winning. However, she still has her fans. They know that she might be back one day again. If not, she will always have her true fans. I’m sure that Laila thought about them when she was stepping out of the ring, but fans see her from time to time. So, she hasn’t really left us. Laila is doing more things and having herself a family. I’m sure there was a part of Laila that did not want to leave. She probably wanted to give her fans more considering the opponents she had to fight against. It may have been a hard fought decision to step down out of the ring. Having a family is probably easiest and most wonderful decision for Laila.

There's a Humphrey about, and he is the king. You got to drink your milk quickly because Humphrey will drink it first. Muhammad Ali said that he is the greatest in the boxing ring. When I think of Laila Ali, I think of Icon. I think of longevity for Laila. I think that she has left a mark in women's boxing. Now Laila has gone on to do other things in life. I also think of ubiquity when I think of Laila. Her image and her father's image is being represented in my art. When I think of Laila, I think of distinction. To me, she can have many nick names, but her known nick name is "She Bee Stingin'". Yep, and she's just like her daddy. We know him as the greatest of all times, Muhammad Ali.

Whenever Laila got into the ring to box, it brought back the love of boxing. I could feel her father in the wind of her wings. Laila brought back real excitement and heart. She brought back old history and memories. I know that she has a life outside of the boxing ring, and she's got to go on, but thank you Laila Ali for giving us your best. You have added on to my old memories and those memories are of you.

Father and Daughter Legend
There is one boxing legend that I know. It is the world’s most legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali. His boxing looks like a positive legacy handed down to his daughter, Laila Ali, who is now a boxing star. She has achieved so much, and I believe that she could be a world wide legend too. To me, the boxing legacy lives on in Laila. Although Laila was not a boxer before, I believe she had some kind of fighting talent all along. Her father did not want her to box, but he is there by her side supporting her. When I see him out in the crowd watching Laila fight, I can see the excitement in his eyes. Laila’s boxing excitement could be some of her father’s medicine that keeps him going. I’m sure Muhammad Ali can see himself in Laila. She is not her father, but his blood certainly is running through her veins.

Challenge
Laila has proven that she can fight. Laila has never lost a fight, and she needs to move up higher. She needs tougher opponents. Some fans are frustrated because they want to see Laila fight another boxing star name Ann Wolfe. I just don’t understand why there are so many obstacles. Ann Wolfe is a female boxer and is the only one in all of boxing’s history to hold world titles at four different categories according to Wikipedia. I have seen her with my own eyes that she has a punch as hard as Mike Tyson. But that might not be enough against Laila. Will we ever know? We can speculate, but to the fans seeing is beleiving. Some fans believe that Laila will win. I believe that she can win, and I want her to win, but I would like to see Laila win a hard to win fight.

The Bees
Some people seem to think that Laila is afraid of Ann Wolfe. Like the bees, Laila can be ferocious when disturbed or threatened. When it comes to boxing, she is very serious. Laila doesn’t ryhme or joke like her father. It’s no speech and drama act. Laila has the right nickname which is “She Bee Stingin’”. So many confident female boxers have challenged Laila and did not really know what they were fighting against. She can really sting. I’m surprised that Laila isn’t bored yet. She has got to fight Ann Wolfe somewhere down the line. It makes no since if Ann is as great as they say she is and Laila is as great as we know she is. If these two are so great, why are they not fighting eachother. Somebody has got to give. If it is the management teams that can’t come to an agreement, they need to be fired for the sake of Women’s Boxing. I can feel the furstration and the bees.

Laila Ali is a strong amazing champion. She is a woman that is strong in spirit, body, and mind to face a challenge before her. It is a mystery to me that other strong women of the boxing ring will not cross Laila’s path. She feels that there is no one to fight in order to stay in the ring. Laila is beginning to grow tired, and it is not because of fighting. It is because of not being able to fight the girls that she wants to fight. Laila thinks that her fight with Gwendolyn O’Neil will be her last fight for a while which she won on Saturday, Feb. 03, 2007. She knocked out Gwendolyn in the first minute of the first round. For now, she is stepping out of the ring. At least we can say that she stepped out number one. I believe that there are other good things down the road for Laila.

Laila Ali has been a winning warrior in the ring for a long time. Now she wants to start a family. That will be Laila’s real triumph and victory. For where there is life,
she will have a chance to do many other things. I think that there will be blessings and cheers from her fans always. On her break, I’m sure she will have more time for family and friends. Laila might have more time to even chat with some fans. Fans hate to see her leave the ring, but hey, look on the bright side. Laila will be back because she don’t quit. She is a strong spirited woman who loves to box.

When I type in the words Women's Boxing in the search engine of some sport websites, it seems as though the women are unheard of for boxing. Laila Ali was the hero of Women's boxing buzz. Some people down her out and say that she was no good, but who was making all of the most popular news? It was Laila Ali along with Mike Tyson as far as I can remember. Laila was doing all of the winning. Now, to find out the latest news on women's boxing, you have to go towww.womenboxing.com. Women just do not get credit for boxing. However, Laila Ali did, and then again, she didn't. There are still people out there that do not want to admit that she's the champ. It is true that someone could come along and beat her if she steps back into the ring. All of the women that could have fought her did not fight her. So Laila should be considered the champ.

Laila Ali is my favorite female boxer. However, she stepped down from the ring. Sometimes I feel that she will never box again. I loved seeing her box. Laila was real with her boxing. She did not play and kid around like her father, Muhammad Ali, although he could also get mean and angry in the ring. When Laila was in the ring with you, she was determined to get you. I don't remember her ever loosing a fight. Laila was so great in the ring that there was no other female boxer that could beat her. The girls that might would have been a challenge to her never fought her. There was always a problem that they did not get a chance to box her.

Today, Laila is taking it easy. She now has the family she always wanted. Laila is happily married to Curtis Conway and has a son named after Curtis. Laila is into cooking, health and fitness, and she is also into singing. She is also into selling and promoting her new haircare, skincare and fragrance line! She is a mother, champion, and business lady.

However, she could start her own thing and connect with her fans too. Laila has, “She Bee Stinging, Inc”. She could really use that company name of hers on the Internet. Laila could let fans share their art with her, send private or public messages and thoughts to her, videos, articles, and whatever she would like for her fans to send. Fans could help her fan club grow in a business kind of way. Laila could create jobs, always have money coming in some way, and could always have something going for herself.

There are a few videos and art about Laila roaming the Internet that is just fantastic. With the help of fans, Laila could be like Spike Lee. I don’t know if the works of her fans even gets much attention. Laila could have a big organization because fans are in her corner. They really love her talent and really love what she does. Laila could let her fans be a part of, She Bee Stinging, Inc. That would give her fans something to look forward to and occupy their minds. Maybe keep some people out of trouble.

The Boxing Storm

Hearing about Laila Ali upcoming fight was no joke. I heard voices in the thunder saying, "Who's got the Pay-Per-View Channel? Laila Ali is going to be fighting, and I want to see it! It's going to be a baaadddd fight! Laila's going to kick some ***@@$$!!"

Hearing the thunder, I was sad. I just knew I wasn't going to see that fight. I didn't have the Pay-Per-View Channel, and the regular TV news just didn't give updates on women's boxing. I began to hear another roar of thunder remembering how afraid my mother was of lightening storms.

So I laid down that night and began to dream. I dream that my mother was alive again trying to raise me, my brother, and my father. We were all outside sitting on the back porch in the country. My father said, "Laila Ali is going to be boxing down town, and I got to see that fight." My father was like a big child when he loved seeing something.

Me and my brother were getting excited and my mother said, "Y'all ain't going down there. I see a bad cloud in the sky. I thought I saw it lightening. It is lightening! Y'all c'mon in the house! Shut the door behind you. You're daddy can stay outside if he wants to."

When the storm came up, everything got dark. My mother made us turn the TV off, the fans off, and anything that ran by electricity. It was a hot summer day too. My mother, my brother, and I were fanning hard, and we could hear us fanning . It was so hot that we could feel the sweat from each other's legs. It was too hot to sit beside one another, and my father stood in the door looking out.

My mother began to speak to my father and she said, "You are a dangerous man! I wish you would shut that door before some lightening come through here. Get somewhere and sit down while the Lord is doing his work."

My father said, "Woman, it's hot. You bout to make me faint." Finally, my father shut the door, and the storm lasted about an hour.

When the sun came out again,when the rain stopped pouring, and when the bad clouds rolled away, another storm came. This time it was the boxing storm. It was six o'clock in the afternoon. My father was taking a bath and getting ready to see Laila Ali.

I asked, "Ma, can't we go?"

She said, "No, you don't need to be following everywhere behind your daddy. You keep your buts home."

My brother said, "C'mon Maaaaaa!"

My mother looked at my brother and said, "I'm coming on."

When my father was ready, he looked at us and said, "Yall can go."

My mother said, "They don't need to go no where with you. You ain't gonna look out for them anyway. It will probably be a big crowd and so many people there....."

I said, "Ma, you can go too."

My mother looked at me with her hands on her hip and said, "I was planning on staying home today and getting some rest. It's been hot cooking in that kitchen and another storm will probably come up."

To make a long story short, we were all on our way down town to see Laila Ali. We could feel her in the wind, and we could feel her father in the air with her. It was like old times again when Muhammad Ali was in the ring. Seeing her fight was a terrible lightening storm. There was blood and sweat. There was fire coming down with lightening. There was hail as big as golf balls. Laila Ali was the winner. Laila Ali strikes again.

Creating a Third Dimension of Laila Ali

Laila Ali makes me dream. There is something about the way she floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Laila is more than a boxer. In my mind, she is a myth. In my vision and seeing her in the boxing ring on television, she is a hero and powerful. Laila sends me to a fictional world of art and creating.

After signing up with Google Sites, I began to create a cartoon website about Laila. I began to see the things that are not seen about Laila. I wanted those things to become real, so that people can imagine how she floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. I wanted Laila’s father’s phrase to be understood more along with Laila showing it in real life.

Creating art about Laila Ali keeps me sane. Creating art and stories about her intertwines with what she really does. I create the art because I appreciate Laila Ali and all of her hard work. Hopefully, more people will appreciate her too. Laila inspires me, and I am trapped between reality and fantasy. There are two dimensions and the third is to make the people see what is there that they cannot see. So, I continue to create images which are not always an easy task.

I can see Laila now going shopping and pulling out a wad of cash to pay for something. I can imagine before she can get to her car, some guy tries to snatch her pocket book to run. I can see me standing off to the side line looking. You know that Laila is going to forget everything she said. I can see her beating up some old thief that would be a man. I can see her not thinking about his strength. The thing is the thief probably wouldn’t know how to box anyway. If he punches her with his best punch, that’s not going to stop Laila Ali. If it’s a punch, it better be a knock out punch.

Laila can get mad when you do her wrong. Being mad will make you fight no matter what. I know that for myself. If Laila is knocked out, it will not be because she did not fight back. Sometimes you don’t feel the punch when you’re angry. If God is in you and on your side, no tell ’em what kind of strength will come out of you. I have seen strength come out of nowhere watching my mother when she fought a man. She was sick that day too. Although the man was stronger than she, she was just as strong that day. As a matter of fact, I have known some women to beat men too. It wasn’t always because the man just didn’t want to fight the woman either.

Getting back on the subject, after Laila defeats the thief and walks off with her pocket book like nothing happened, I can see me yelling to her.

Gail: Hey, Laila! I thought you said the man could take more than the woman. What happened?

Laila: Girl, I was attacked! What’s wrong with you! Forget what I said!

I can see Laila Ali chewing on her gum, getting into her car just as cool and as calm as can be. I can see her driving off with her hair in the wind. So if you ever hear Laila Ali say that she don’t never try to beat men up, don’t pay her any attention.

Laila doesn't rhyme like her father. If she did, she would be just like him. Just because she doesn't rhyme, that does not mean that she doesn't have the ability. I didn't always have the ability until my mother showed me I could by reading me nursery rhymes. She told me I could write my own poems. I knew how nursery rhymes were written, and I took it from there. My mother planted the seed.

There is something I have noticed about Laila. She makes good speeches. It's easy to tell the world what you know when you know it. I believe that Laila Ali can do just about anything.

Seeing the Truth through Replay_Laila vs. Karen Bill

Television can show segments of something, and you may not catch all that you need to catch. The news man will tell it how he sees it, but it may not be the way you see it when you see it. If you haven’t seen your favorite athlete in a particular sport, you may read about that athlete on the internet and everybody’s opinion. That happened to me trying to keep up with the news of Laila Ali. I never saw some of Laila’s past fights like the fight she had against Karen Bill. In a forum back in 2005, I read that Laila never talked about that fight. I read that Karen knocked Laila down and that the fight should have been a rematch. That’s not how I saw it when I finally saw some of the fight.

When I saw some of the fight for myself, I saw Laila Ali falling. It did not appear to look like she was really knocked down or dropped. It made me wonder if the canvas was slippery or if she just lost her balance in the way she fell. Laila appeared to fall like somebody knocked her feet from beneath her standing up. Her arms were in the air falling backwards. When Laila got up, she had the “this is it” attitude. She went after Karen Bill as if she was determined to punish her, and she did. Laila won that fight, and I did not see a need for a rematch.

If Laila doesn’t beat you up, she will beat you out of a belt and a title. It’s all about boxing. No matter how you look at it, some kind of beating is going to be involved. With her fists, she beats with a steady rhythm like a drummer on a drum. Laila will beat some sense into you for getting into the ring with her. The beat down simply means that Laila is going to defeat you. It means she will pound, punish, strike, and whip you. It means that Laila is going to give you one mean beating.

Sugar Ray Leonard & Laila Ali Workout

Why did I start with the heavyweight advanced workout with Sugar Ray L. and Laila Ali? I Should have gotten the lightweight first. The first time I started watching it, before I could even begin, I was tired. I thought,"I've got to mow the grass tomorrow with the push mower and the rider." I tried a little bit of the advanced workout and Laila and Ray were going too fast. I was all mixed up and doing stuff wrong. When I first put the dvd in, I knew Ray was going to be fast. He was showing how to throw 3 punches. In the end he put all of them together and started throwing them too fast. I thought I had it down pat when he was going slow. I had to laugh and say, "Sugar Ray, you ain't right."

When another day came, I was out in the yard getting yard exercise clipping tree limbs, clipping down weeds, and all of the stuff that needed trimming with a weed eater. I had no weed eater, so I used a pair of clippers. My hands and arms were sore. After that day, I tried the advanced workout again. The jump and jacks with Laila and Ray really made me tired. I was feeling it in my legs. All that jumping around was no joke.

Some people say that skinny people don't need exercise. It's a lie lady's and gentlemen. It's a lie. I'm skinny and I know I need to exercise. I can feel it in my bones when I don't. Being out of breath feels like asthma.

The Lack of Sponsorship for Women’s Boxing

It is said due to lack of marketing, sponsorship, and promoters willing to put women on their cards, women's boxing is not as well known as men's boxing. Seems to me, something ought to be done about that. If somebody can get to the root of the problem instead of working around the problem, things can speed up a little faster.

Getting off of the subject a little, it’s funny how Women’s Basketball is so well known. It began in 1892 according to history. Also according to history, there is women’s division of professional wrestling. In 1937, Mildred Burke won the original World Women's title. It’s funny how we see women wrestlers on TV.

Getting back to Women’s Boxing, Women's Boxing first appeared in the Olympic Games at a demonstration about in 1904. It was banned in most nations. Women can do a lot of things and very athletic. They have God given talent too. God doesn’t have a problem with them using it. He used Joan of Arc for war didn’t he? Women can get hurt in any sport. People know this by now. So when I look at Women’s boxing, I understand why pop singer Michael Jackson always asked the question, “What’s the problem?”

Men's Back up in Women’s Boxing

In Women’s Boxing, women do have men trainers training them very well. Laila Ali’s trainer, “Captain" Cassius Green, is now training her and a very good trainer. Ann Wolfe’s trainer, Pops Billingsley, trains very well. He trains Ann Wolfe to fight like the men. So women do have some support from men thanks to God. Trainer, John Hazard, has trained women for ten years on four levels: local, state, national, and international. It is said that he also own and run The Ring Boxing Club in Boston where 40% of 400 members are women. According to womens boxing.com, he said, “They listen and work harder than anybody.”

To me, there is some depth in Women’s Boxing. There are just some people that don’t want to give the sport a chance because it‘s women fighting. Move out the way whoever you are. You’re an obstacle to many womens boxing fans including men fans of the sport. We are enjoying the sport. If everybody that loved the sport stood up against you, we could be like stampede.

Laila the Rose

Laila is a rose. It's good that she has a thorn. There are men that want her, and not all men are good. There are women that wish they were her, and not all women are good. Laila stands out from the crowd. She's planted around jealousy. She might say to the Lord which is her creator, "Lord, I don't understand why you put me here."

Her God would probably say to Laila, "Laila, my beautiful rose, be not afraid. They cannot destroy what I want made. You will remain and be beautiful until I say it's time for you to move away. I will move you and no hand will touch thee. I'm around you. Stay close to me."

Laila Ali the Boxer

Laila is a boxer, and you got to misbehave when you box. I get a kick out of seeing Laila misbehave. I know that her opponents talk junk to her, and Laila remembers everything they say. Whenever she steps into the ring, she looks at her opponents so mean. That makes me laugh. Laila doesn’t blink. Her opponents try to look mean back, but they know that they are doomed. If you are a fan watching, you know that Laila is going to whip somebody. That is Laila Ali the boxer.

Sometimes, I get sort of sad. I wish I could meet Laila Ali the human being. I know that she is just ordinary. She cooks, she has a family, she looks like she's fun, she could be a great sister to someone who has no sisters, she travels, and she's probably someone that you could learn a lot from when she's willing to share.

Getting back to Laila's boxing talent, she is extraordinary. That is Laila Ali the boxer.

Do you remember Space Jam starring Michael Jordan? That was a fantastic movie with the Looney Toons. Since Laila loves children so much, I think there should be another movie of Space Jam starring Laila Ali. Here’s an idea. Laila Ali has to box in a charity fight to raise money to save a child who has cancer. She finds there are evil doctors after nothing but money, and some children could have been saved alive.

There are Looney Toon characters that would fit right into Laila’s boxing. Remember the big boxing kangaroo mouse? He would be a friend to Laila and someone to help her train for the big fight. She could fight someone big, strong, and evil to make the fight interesting for the movie. The movie should be funny, serious, and heart touching too.

Will the London 2012 Olympics Help Women’s Boxing and the Truth?

Some say that there are not enough female boxers with talent. There is a reason for that problem, and it is not the only problem. Another problem is the best fighters are not fighting the best. So there is somebody left to fight, but are the best fighters the best? There are female boxers unheard of that ought to be known with plenty of boxing talent. Are these unheard of female boxers with talent being ignored? If they are, that’s the big problem. Female boxers that are well known like Laila Ali only get so far, and they come to a stopping point. I think that there are not enough people that care for the sport to help pick it up also. Somebody knows something, and somebody can do something to help the sport. People that know about boxing business ought to stand up. They need to stand up for what is right so they can get the show on the road. I believe if all of the problems in women’s boxing would die out, women’s boxing would be better than the men’s boxing. A woman will hold a grudge longer than a man. There is just something about a female fight.

When I think about women’s boxing, something is not sinking into me. I’m left unsatisfied thinking there is one main problem with women’s boxing above all. It is said that women’s boxing is a sport that is still growing. It’s been around for a while now. I believe that something is stopping the sport from growing. There is a hold up somewhere. For one thing, women’s boxing is not fully accepted, and I think female boxers are waiting for something more. Some will not box another opponent because of not enough pay. So it doesn’t look like female boxers are doing anything to help themselves fight each other.

The question is, will the London 2012 Olympics open doors for Women’s boxing? Hopefully it will draw more talented women into boxing. If that happens, then what’s the excuse? If a female boxer is a talented boxer, she ought not to be ignored. It sounds like there are some crooks in the sport to me. Some of the female boxers that are known may not be all that great. How did they get to the top? Why are they promoted better? Something is not right. People are not stupid. People know and people see. They are not blind, and why should we hide the truth? It doesn’t feel good to live a lie. If I were known as the best and I knew that I wasn’t, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself. Only the truth shall set you free. I’m hoping that the London 2012 Olympics will open the doors for the truth.

Meaning of Float Like a Butterfly

What does it mean for the human to float like a butterfly? You don't really see a person floating in the air. Float like a butterfly is from Laila Ali's father's quote. Once I saw one of Laila's opponents hitting her in the face, and Laila turned her head like it was nothing. To me, Laila was being the butterfly just floating around right at that particular moment or else she would have been stinging like a bee at that moment. I have also seen Laila duck every now and then. If she's ducking your punches, and if you miss her, I consider that as Laila floating. I remember the time I tried to grab a butterfly and missed him as he was floating. Laila Ali is also known to float like her father. You can never really capture her in the ring. Laila is too fast. She is Madame Butterfly.

A Place for Women’s Boxing on Regular TV

It is said that the TV series ABC’s Wide World of Sports was canceled in 1998. It started in 1961. That’s where I saw the Muhammad Ali fights. When an exciting fight happens in women’s boxing, thanks to ESPN, we might get to see it. However, not all of us will get to see it. Not everybody has cable TV, and we have to pay to see those fights when aired on Pay Per View. Even if it takes showing repeats after cable, we need a series like ABC’s Wide World of Sports to show women’s boxing on regular TV for all of the world to see. That way, even more people will know the most talked about female boxers and the ones that are not known.

A Special Tournament Idea for Women's Boxing

If I had the power to change women’s boxing, I wouldn’t exactly change it, but I would start a special tournament every year. The tournament would have only the best women boxers to fight each other, and they would all get paid no matter what. Then I wouldn’t have to hear any complaints about somebody not getting paid enough. There would be no excuses and no questions asked about why one female boxer is not fighting another. Then we could find out which female boxer is the best for that particular year and start again next year. The female boxers would be the best women boxers from all over the world. That would make the tournament more exciting.

What if Laila Ali and Ann Wolfe decided to fight each other? What if we actually get a little taste of them fighting each other outside of the ring? (I begin to daydream).

Laila Ali: (Laila Ali standing up pointing her finger). I’m tired of your lies Ann! That is some bull crap, and you know it! I don’t run from nobody! You see me standing here, don’t you? If I were afraid of you, I wouldn’t be here now! Would I?

Ann Wolfe: (Ann sits up on the edge of her chair yelling out at the audience). She’s Chicken Run ladies and gentlemen! She ain’t runnin’ now cause she’s been home practicing how to beat me. All this time she’s been stallin’ yall. The woman went on “Dancing With the Stars” to learn how to dance like her father in the ring! That’s why this fight has been delayed for so long. She’s got to prove something to that man on last weeks show. Wendy Williams wanted me to come here today yall. I couldn’t let her down, and I’m never late.

Laila Ali: (Laila stands with her hands on her hip). What ya mean you’re never late? What took you so long with the first round nock-out? You should have been doing that to all of your opponents!

Ann Wolfe: ( Ann stands up slow and faces Laila). Yea, I don’t mind doing a little bit more practicing my nock-out on you.

Ann throws a punch at Laila, and Laila sees it coming. Laila ducks the punch and grabs Ann and they both head for the floor.

Wendy Williams: Oh my God! Girls, don’t fight. (Wendy looks tensed looking at the camera). Well be back after these messages.

Back Home in North Carolina…………

Daddy: Uh! Oh! Come here, Gail! They are fighting! Ann Wolfe and Laila Ali!

Gail: ( I ran down into the dinning room, and my eyes were large). They mad for real!

Daddy: Daggone it! They had to go to a commercial break. I bet by the time they get back to the show, they will be finished fighting. But, there is gonna be a fight. I can’t wait to see it!

Gail: And HBO would be crazy if they didn’t show that fight. They said that there was no depth in women’s boxing. That’s why they won’t show the fights. Laila Ali was the one that brought the excitement of boxing back when there was nothing but Mike Tyson making the headlines in men’s boxing. She brought back her fathers name. I’m proud of her and all of the women that had the nerve to box her. Especially, Ann Wolfe. HBO ought to be ashamed of themselves. This is Gail Nobles saying so long on Laila Ali News Adventures.

Television set playing at home in NC: I’m a chicken hawk, and I eat chicken (Looney Toons).

Daddy: Gail, do you want to go to California to see Laila Ali. She’s going to be on the Wendy Williams talk show.

Gail: Sure, daddy! I’ve never been to a talk show before, and I defiantly want to see Laila Ali.

Daddy: Me too. The audience will get a chance to ask her questions, and I want to be there.

Gail: I don’t know, daddy. You don’t need to ask Laila any questions. I’m not going to be embarrassed.

Daddy: Oh, it will be alright. I’m not going to say nothing.

So we went to the talk show and we were sitting in the third row.

Wendy: So Laila, let’s talk about your boxing career. Do you remember that statement you made last year about Christy Martin?

Laila: Statement? What statement? I’ve made so many statements and comments about my opponents that I can’t remember.

A few minuets later…..

Wendy: Let’s get some questions from the audience.

Daddy was the first one to raise his hand. Wendy goes to him with the microphone. I just sat low as I could in my seat and hid my face behind the people sitting in front of me. Years had gone by and my daddy asked a question that had been years forgotten.

Daddy: Laila, I know that this has been so long ago that you don’t remember. I’ve got to ask you.

Laila: Go ahead.

Daddy: Why are you not fighting Ann Wolfe? I want to see that fight.

Laila: There it goes! (Laila throws her hands up in the air.) I am tired of people asking me that question!

My father and Laila were starting to really get into an arguement. When he looked around for me, I was gone. I ran outside because I knew Laila was getting angrier by the minuet. Daddy made Laila remember a lot of things she really didn't forget. She never forgot Ann Wolfe's comments ready to fight her any time, any place, day, month, or year. I had a feeling that Daddy was going to end up in the boxing ring, and I wasn’t going to be there. He was about to be Ann Wolfe. I was walking fast down the street looking behind me. I started to run hoping no one would come after me. I yelled for the taxi cab. When I got into the cab, I told the cab man that I wanted to go back to New Bern, NC. My brain wasn’t functioning well enough to remember that he couldn’t drive there because I was so nervous.

Taxi: Now, you know that’s a long ways from here, dear.

Gail: I mean take me to the airport.

And the moral of the story is the things we want to remember are the things that we don't forget.

Gail: Hi I’m Gail Nobles. This is Laila Ali News Adventure Talk Radio. I have a question. Can you imagine boxing Laila Ali? I can’t. My mother taught me how to fight, but she didn’t raise no fool either. I will tell you one thing. I can imagine me being in serious condition in a boxing match with Laila. Stepping in the ring to meet her face to face would hurt. I can see her looking down at me with frowns in her forehead standing tall. I probably wouldn’t know whether to look up at the ceiling to laugh or look down at my shoes to cry. If her mean looks could kill, I would be dead before the fight would start.

If I had to fight Laila Ali, I would fall to sleep. No, I don’t mean the kind of sleep to just lie down and sleep with a pillow. I mean I would be knocked out cold by the punch of She Bee Stinging Ali. Laila would probably stand over me and say, “Get up, girl! You ain’t hurt.”

I would probably look around not knowing what happened so fast if she would just hit me enough to fall. I would probably think to myself, “No, I’m not really hurt, but my feelings are hurt.” I would crawl to the ropes and roll out of the ring. Laila would probably stand with her hands on her hip hot as a 45 (pistol) after traveling way down south to fight me. I mean bam! Nothing happens. The fight would be over. I wouldn’t wait for a referee. I would jog down the aisle to my room saying, “Run, Young Girl, Run!”

People say I’m crazy, and I am. However, it is only for the moment when I am creating or coming up with wild ideas. Well, I think Laila is a great actress. I picture her in a Tyler Perry Film (Madea). I can see Madea in the ring with Laila. It would be a funny comedy I’m sure. I can see Madea fussing with Laila at a grocery store over a shopping cart. Not only that, but I can see Madea not knowing that Laila Ali is Muhammad Ali’s daughter. Madea probably would find Laila in a boxing gym. Of course, Madea would be ready to challenge Laila. Laila would be a boxing pro, and Madea would be tough to fight. Still, Laila would win. After the fight, Madea would find out who Laila really is. Ha! Ha!

Of course, I think Will Smith should play Ali since he has done such a wonderful job playing the Ali Movie. The guy that played Superman (Brandon Routh) in Superman Returns should play Superman. I think if this movie was made, Muhammad Ali himself would enjoy it and many others.

When I first became a Laila Ali fan, I was hearing all kind of mean things about Laila, her fan club, and it was just everything. I thought, “Why is everybody giving Laila Ali a hard time?” I was told by my father that people didn’t always like her father, Muhammad Ali, at first either. Well, I ignored the rumors and would write her every chance I got. I did receive an answer that Laila saw my emails. She wanted to send me something, but I didn’t know how to accept it. I didn’t want anything from Laila, but she wanted to give me something. Maybe I should have accepted what she had to offer. The cocky Laila Ali that I only knew was alright with me, and I wasn’t looking for anything from her. I accepted the fact that Laila was cocky because she is a boxer. Don’t most fighters get cocky with their opponents? Isn’t it a natural thing for boxers? That was the Laila Ali I had seen inside of the boxing ring. Other than that, I knew nothing more about Laila until I bought her book, “Reach.” Then I understood Laila even more. That’s when I had things to say and couldn‘t write it. I had fears of being misunderstood through email on the Internet. I wanted to meet her and just speak with her face to face so that she could see my expressions. I wanted to talk to her as a human being. I wanted to say, “Laila, you’re alright. God talks to me about you.”

I began to slack up a little writing Laila. Her website was changing to a new address. I got a message from heaven one night while I was sleeping that I shouldn’t stop writing Laila. I thought, “If she sees my emails, she’s probably tired of me.” When she became more of a celebrity, I hung my head a little. I hung my head because I knew celebrities were busy or they just didn’t communicate much with fans. When you’re just a fan, sometimes it seems like you are nobody and unimportant. I wanted to be her friend. The spirit of the Lord kept saying that some of the things that I had to write were important. I kept feeling that so many people were saying mean things about Laila that writing her would not have mattered anymore. When I slacked up, it felt like a big weight on my heart and mind.

Seeing her father made me want to write even more. I was writing him through his website, but I doubt that he got my messages. I wanted to tell him how the Lord could heal him from the Parkinson’s that he has. I am a believer because of the miracle I had seen praying for my dying mother. There is great power in prayer. I have so much inside, and I feel I can’t get it out because of mean things and what other folks do. Maybe what's inside is too much for somebody else. At the time that I heard about all of the mean things people were saying about Laila, I was going through some things too. I would say, “Lord, what have I done wrong.”

The Lord would say, “It’s not always what you have done wrong. It is what you have done right. Sometimes it is the things that others do.”

Laila, I feel you and you’re alright.

Laila Ali Should Move to a Higher Rank in Boxing

Laila Ali didn't always get the best opponnents to fight, and now, she's not fighting? People are always pointing their fingers at Laila, but is it all Laila? Whoever is in charge of getting her opponnents should have gotten her the best. To be honest, some of those women looked pitiful and didn't even compare to Laila at all. You don't have to know anything about boxing to see that. Maybe there are not many women in women's boxing that are as strong as Laila. Even though it was Laila being a great and unbeaten female boxer, things still didn't look right to me.

When Laila became a supper middle weight champion, a few of her opponents looked like amateur fighters. Laila always looked like a heavy weight to me and fights like a heavyweight. Laila was beating her opponnents down fast? She was going through those girls. So why didn't they let her practice in the gym with a light heavyweight and get her ready so she could move higher? When you are that good, something should be done about moving up. You don't let a person stay where they don't belong. That is robbing a person from what they could really do with their skills. Maybe I'm wrong, but if Laila returns to boxing, I think she should move to a higher rank.

The most impressive female boxer these days, or in fact for all time for that matter will have to be Laila Ali. She is the second youngest of Muhammed Ali's 9 children, and apparently has inherited at the very least a few of his same abilities in the ring also. She started boxing only a few years ago and formerly owned and managed a nail bar in California. She was married twice, her present husband being National football league star Curtis Conway. She carries a perfect record of Twenty-four fights with Twenty-four wins, and 21 knockouts, that's much the same KO ratio to the great puncher George foreman, and even greater then her fathers was also.

She, in addition, has inherited a great deal of her fathers charm and media persona too, making her not just the very best but the most popular also. What began as hoopla owing to who her father was has developed into her own career as a the most successful icon that womens boxing has ever seen. She now holds all the major womens titles at her weight and has even defeated the daughters of two other boxing greats in Freeda Foreman and Jackie Frazier-Lyde respectively.

Because of her instant fame and obvious ability she quickly became the most famous and well paid female boxer in the world too, now commanding fight purses around the $500,000 dollar mark. She isn't without her critics though and is often portrayed in the media as the best of a bad bunch regarding the level that a lot of women boxing is at. Many also thought before her debut that living in the shadow if her father and being raised surrounded by wealth etc would have meant she lacked the hunger or motivation to become a great fighter too. She has now however soundly proved these people wrong.

She has fought many times on the under cards of Mike Tyson's fights, and her main rival is the simultaneous Four weight champ Ann Wolfe, although despite efforts from both sides this particular fight has yet to be decided. Leila Ali takes the title as the finest female boxer on the planet in my mind because she has fought all the top end at her bodyweight, and has yet to be near to even being defeated. Ann Wolfe however has one defeat on her record and fewer fights as well, placing her in next place in spite of her title accomplishment.

My father has always been a card game player. He loves to play Spades. I guess that I can say that he is part of my artistic inspiration on this card.

Back in the old days, me, my father, and brother played UNO. My mother would get on my case about school work because I was so into the game. It seemed that I could never beat my father. I did not want to leave the table until I could beat him. He would play a mind game with me. My father would tease me so bad about loosing. My mother made me quit the game and told me enough was enough. However, oneday, me and my brother started whipping him bad. We filled his hand up with the whole deck almost. That is how I came up with the name, Book'em Deck. (The Dedicated to L.A. Edition).

Whenever I look at this card design, I think of Laila and her father, and me and my father. A game is just a game, and it is for fun. A sport is just a sport, and there can be competition. It's all good when it's all over. With love, a daughter is still a daughter and a father is still a father.

When I think about Laila Ali, I think of fast speed. She has fast speed in punching. Some people call her "Madame Butterfly", and some people call her “She Bee Stinging”. Because of those two names, to me, Laila has insector speed. Like her father, she floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. The bumble bee and the butterfly are one in Laila Ali. She has the power to sting and the power to float. Look at what she has become. Her father was the greatest in his way, and Laila is the greatest in her way.

When I think about the speed of Laila, I can imagine her with speed bags from one end of the gym to the other. I can imagine her moving down the line hitting them all in a certain length of time.

People have all kinds of compliments about Laila’s way of boxing. I have seen Laila’s opponents hitting her, and Laila was very unstoppable. She has strong will power. It seems she feels no pain. She has something she calls the beat down. In the beat down, she is very fast with her punches; hitting her opponent as often as possible, and she doesn’t get hit. Laila can hit her opponents so fast and so hard, all they can do is fall down. Some of them try to turn away from her. They do not stand a chance in hitting back after a while. Laila doesn’t play around. Her timing is perfect in beating them down. I think Laila is finding herself in boxing. That’s why she boxes different from her legendary father or anybody else. Laila has her own way, and I have seen no other woman in the ring fighting the way Laila can. If she keeps on boxing, it’s possible that she might bring something more and new to boxing. No one could touch her father, Muhammad Ali, shuffling around the ring. No one can do the shuffle the way he can. No one can touch Laila with her beat down. She’ll step right up to you, take your punches and not feel a thing. Already, Laila is too much for her opponents.

A few weeks ago, I went outside to mow the grass. I pushed a tree limb with blossoms out of my way, and then a big, giant, yellow, and black bee landed on my arm. Hurriedly, I knocked him away, but he still bit into my skin a little bit. There was a tiny hole in the center of the swelling area. As soon as I could, I went into the house to put some alcohol on it. It was stinging a little, but after a bath and the next morning, it started to itch.

I began to think back when I was a little girl. My father got stung by a wasp. His face had swollen on one side so bad that I couldn’t tell if he was looking at me. My father looked mean as I tried to talk to him. He was watching TV, but he looked like he was watching me too. I couldn’t tell. Finally at last he said, “Hmm, hmm.” So I knew he had at least heard me.

When I think about that, I think about Laila Ali. When she hits her opponents, their faces look swollen. Laila Ali is just like the bumble bee. She’s got the sting just like her father.

The things that you had growing up your parents may not have had. You can learn from your parents and learn from their mistakes. They can learn from watching you also. They can give you advice on what you could do better. However, when you are born with a talent, it comes natural.

Women's boxing without Laila Ali is boring. Since she's been gone, I haven't heard much about Ann Wolfe lately from fans. I have been hearing about Christy Martin in the news. Glad to hear that she's still boxing some. Well, at least I still hear about Laila Ali in the news too, but it's not about boxing. Writers try to make it sound all good that there are other women boxers. They can say and write what they want to write. Still, it's not right without Laila. It was so exciting seeing her box. I can't help it. I miss seeing Laila. There was none like her. My interest in women's boxing is leaving unless somebody else comes along like Laila. I miss seeing Laila Ali in women's boxing.

There were times when I felt very tired in life. I sometimes did not want to get up out of bed. However, things are better and different now, but seeing Laila box planted a seed in my head. Watching her was teaching me to fight in so many ways. Whenever I am challenged about something hard in life, I think about Laila's image in boxing. I see her fighting image and a strong one. Laila Ali makes me think that I've got to go on and be strong too.

I remember when my teacher use to make me run around the football field in P.E. I would be so tired. Still, I can hear her saying, "Girl, pick up those feet!" I guess she knew when I was dragging. Oneday I ran so hard, that I fell on the grass holding a fist full of it tight. I felt like I wasn't getting any air in the lungs. I was out of breath.
